What we collect
When you request a charter, contact us, sign up for harbor news, or register a boat, we collect what you type into the form: your name, email address, phone number, and the details of your request (date, party size, boat). If you create an account, we also store your login email. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe — they never touch our servers.
How we use it
To run your charter: matching you with a captain, confirming your booking, sending you the emails the booking needs (confirmation, deposit link, trip details), and answering your questions. If you joined the newsletter, we send you harbor news and Sail Shop updates — every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing always works.
What we never do
We never sell your information. We never share your address with anyone outside the charter you booked — your captain and the boat’s owner see what they need to run your trip, and nobody else.
Cookies & analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful, and the session cookies our sign-in system needs to keep you logged in. We don’t run advertising trackers.
Your choices
Want your information corrected or deleted? Email info@chicagocaptain.org and we’ll take care of it. Unsubscribe links work immediately, and replying to any of our emails reaches a person.
